A Steem Limerick
Sometimes all it takes is a little contest to spark some creativity. That was the case last night as I came across @goodguygreg's St. Patrick's Day Contest 2: Poetry!
Looking back, the other entries are actually about St. Patrick, whereas I just used the limerick to convey a message in the style of limerick in honor of St. Patty's day. Yeah, might be a stretch... Oh well! I'm kind of fond of the rhyme, so I'll share it here and if you're in the mood for some poetry specifically about St. Patrick's Day, then head over to the link above!
E'er since I woke from the reality of Establishment,
I find myself wanting less & less government.
Fighting the -ism's
That threaten our freedoms,
We, Steemians are setting a precedent!
Also, whenever I hear the word 'limerick' I end up with that old Michael Finnegan kid's song stuck in my head, even though it's not really a proper limerick, but I have been trying to play other catchy tunes this morning to push Ol' Finnegan out! 😁

That contest doesn't require the limerick to be about St. Patrick or Ireland specifically, so your entry is certainly good to go!
