Tree Tuesday - Massive Weeping Willow

This massive beauty was captured while visiting Deanna Rose Farmstead. The one thing I love about Willow Trees is that they are very easy to distinguish with their drooping branches and elongated leaves.

There are over 400 different species of willow trees and shrubs. The trees grow rapidly up to 8 ft. per year reaching to be 45-70 ft. tall.

Willows are well known for producing the compound called salicylic acid from which aspirin was first derived.
