Needlework Monday - Crocheting for the Hat Store - Update!
Hello my talented needle artist friends!! Two weeks ago I announced that I was crocheting custom made items for a Hat Store near me. Well I am happy to report it is off to a great start!
The owner contacted me to inform me that she sold the black hat and scarf set within the first week. She invited me to the store to see the red set in the display case. She also had the black set in a case as well. She told me she wanted people to see the sets as soon as they walked in :D
Here’s two more shots I took of the set with my iPhone...
One of her customers has requested a navy blue set and she herself wants me to make 3 more sets in the colors camel, gray and black. I asked her if she wanted me to make different styles but she only wants this particular one for now.
I am very excited about it but at the same time I hope I can keep up with the requests. She knows I have a baby on the way and can only make so many. This also will take time away from me crocheting the baby’s items I had in mind. I will just have to work hard and work on these sets as well as my baby girl’s items at the same time. We’ll see how this goes! 😅
Aw, somebody already snapped up the one with the coconut shell button?! That's wonderful! The red one looks so snazzy and bright on display, I bet it won't last long either. I know that feeling of being excited yet going "eek!" when a request for more comes along!
Yes the one with the coconut shell button is gone! She said the lady was drawn right to it and didn’t even look at anything else. 😃. Thank you so much! This is what I’ve always wanted but now that the opportunity is here I’m really realizing how challenging it will be especially since I have other projects at hand. But I’m determined to get it all done somehow ;)

Being able to help provide my family with extra income, having my handmade items at a professional store, meeting challenging requests...it’s all a thrill! 😃 I really hope I have time too, I’m really going to push myself these next 3 months before the baby gets here. I’ll find time to rest in between lol! 😅

Congratulations on your success! You must be so proud to know that your talents are in demand. Maybe it's a good thing summer is coming so the hat sales may slow down and give you time for your own creations.
Thank you! Yes it makes me feel really honored and very proud. I just can’t believe my work is in a store, it is very rewarding :) Yes hat sales will definitely be slowing down soon. For the Spring I may work up some light weight skinny scarves for her when I have some spare time.
Business looks great, I like the hat, its exactly the same one you have one your picture , however I hope you have time to make some baby stuff and share them with us, those I'm dying to see. I'm sure your daughter's showcase next week will also be fun
