New Criticker Focus: Jacques Demy
Every month, we highlight a different actor or director at Criticker, whose work deserves more attention. This month, we're shining the spotlight on Jacques Demy, one of the most important directors of the French New Wave. Demy is best known for two 1960s musicals, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg and The Young Girls of Rochefort, both of which are favorites among the Criticker community. Remy, who died in 1990, was married to Agnès Varda, herself one of France's most celebrated directors.
