These are the tomato blossoms growing from my bucket compost grower this past summer. The bees were definitely upvoting my com-post plants with lots of pollen and love.

Seeing the yellow star reminds me of Catalonia today. It is amazing how beautifully the Catatonians have united together for the independence they want.

It is also bittersweet, because Spain cannot bear to lose one of its most valuable parts.

Though my blossoms show a vibrant health ready to explode into new fruit, I can see a sadness there because they are angled down, turning away from the sun that once nourished it.

The rich red tomatoes remind me of Hispanic cultures too. Sun-baked, pungent, and filled with saucy, bold flavor, much like the enthusiastic people who love to welcome guests with a full embrace of gratitude. This particular tomato plant turned out to be a yellow tomato. All the more fitting to represent Catalonia.
