Learn how to do PowerUp and be Rewarded!!

During the last days our community has grown a lot, having so far a little more than 300 subscribers. Some users already belonged to the Steem blockchain but many of these users are seeing this for the first time and may have a lot of questions.

For now, we will talk about a very important point within Steemit. As we mentioned on the cover of this article, Power Up!

What is Power Up?

Power Up, simply is to send the Steem (ST) that you have in the Wallet to Steem Power (SP). It is something very simple, right? Yes, but it greatly benefits the community and the Steem ecosystem, read on and you will know why.

You may have noticed that some users with high voting power have a large amount of Steem stored in SP. This is because when you send your Steem to SP your voting power increases, therefore, the more you have, the greater your power. This is very important for the well-being of the community and the Steem blockchain.

But why is this important? The value of Steem or like any other cryptocurrency is established by supply and demand. When a considerable number of users sell their Steem for another cryptocurrency, the value of the Steem goes down and no one wants this.

That is why we seek that the community educate itself on this subject in order to have a healthy ecosystem.

Steps to Power Up

To perform Power Up it is necessary to have STEEM, if you have SBD follow the following steps but if you already have STEEM you can continue in step 4.

1. Go to your wallet and click on the available Steem Dollars. Then Click on Market.

2. In the market, locate the 'Buy Steem' section. Enter purchase price (the system establishes the last amount). Then write the amount of SBD to sell, the amount of STEEM will be entered automatically. If you are satisfied click on 'Buy Steem'

3. Confirm the operation by clicking OK. Usually the operation takes a matter of seconds, but it can take a few minutes depending on the volatility of the market.

4. Then go back to your wallet. Having your Steem in your wallet, click on them.

5. Then click on 'Power up'6. Enter amount to transfer to SP and click Power up.

7. Check the details and click OK.8. Done! You recharged your Steem Power successfully.

Do you want to allocate the proceeds of your publication to Steem Power?

Steps to set rewards to 100%.
When you are in the Steemit editor you will see the advanced settings at the bottom of the editor.

- Click on Advanced settings.

- Then a window will open to configure post rewards.- Select Power Up 100% Author Rewards and click save.
