We Rescued A $2000 French Bulldog!

Hey everyone, what an interesting 'cute' night this was. Last Saturday evening it was my cousins 40th birthday celebration. We knew it was going to be a wild rough night so we ubered to the destination, my first time in uber, very convenient indeed.

A great evening was had by all, time was going by and it was getting late, everyone was leaving and generally when this begins to happen the party starts dying a slow death. My younger cousin and myself wanted to carry on partying, so we jumped into Uber and made our way to the next destination, which happens to be one of our favourite watering holes in Pretoria, Rock@88

We had a drink or two more and that party died, it was 2 am after all. Mike lived close to our current watering hole so to sober up and save cash we decided to walk home (a longer walk than previously thought) and so we did.

En-route home we we joined by this gorgeous little pup, now we were in no mood for company and thought that this little guy popped in to say hi and off he would be. Drunk as we were made friends and carried on walking with our new friend which we quickly named 'THE PUG'.

This was by no means a pug albeit looking very similar. This little guy was so extremely friendly and would not leave us so we thought oh why not lets give him some food water and find his owners in the morning, which we did.

Social media really has changed the world I just hope long term for the better, in this case it certainly was. We put some pics, these pics of him on one of my facebook groups 40 000 odd members called 'Ek's Van Die Ooste' (I'm from the East) The response was overwhelming.

Looking at his cute face you could see why. Offers of 'I'll take him' to monetary offers all in the mix. A few comments later I was asked if I knew what we had found? Yes, A stupid Pug my response?? No you idiot, that is a R25 000 ($2000) French Bulldog, all of a sudden things changed.

Via Sharing on Facebook we managed to track down the owners within hours of the original post. We also took him to the vet to scan for a chip and he was chipped so if Facebook did not work the vet would have traced his owners!

I get kinda angry at irresponsible dog owners at times, if not for my cousin and myself what would have come of this pup? The owners initial response of 'Dankie' (Thanks) did not suffice. I should have kept him ;)

Looking back on it all as an epic evening full of laughs we made a new friend 'Kobus' the very expensive French Bulldog and ultimately the story ended well.
