HARD TAIL KIT BIKE!

in #motoring4 years ago

Hey everyone, I would not consider my self a 'die hard' biker and I guess technically I am not, but a biker by accident I guess I am. Long story short back in 2017 I sold my ailing car and bought crypto for cash I received from the sale of the car, in the hope it would triple up in a month, at that stage the rate it was going up, had it just continued my plan was sound. Sadly however I bought the top and it crashed, the rest is history, I have had no car since then.

Life is all about choices and at times bad ones can be very costly as they were for me and still are, however as long as lessons are learnt and mistakes are not repeated, success is imminent!

Saying all that, I have a child on the way, due mid February and I just cannot continue to walk and uber all over the place, my one mate who left for Ireland 3 weeks ago gave me all his biking jackets gloves etc and said I must buy a scooter ASAP. A few days later another mate came to visit for a day of tennis in the sun, he was riding his brothers scooter and told me it was for sale, I made him an offer and hey PRESTO, I am now a biker! If of course a Scooter is considered a biker? LOL

Back to the purpose of this blog shall we? Naturally bikes and cars all need maintenance and sadly as my mate did not look after the Scooter I have had to take it in for repairs, two days ago I popped in to another mates bike shop to get the scooter inspected and I was rather surprised and intrigued to see this kit bike. 250 cc American Hard tail I am told, the brand escapes me!

As far as 'shock absorbers' are concerned, those springs on the seat?? That is them, I have ridden a few bikes including a Hayabusa in my day but never a hard tail, I cannot imagine it is too comfortable, but I do like the retro look of this proverbial 'bad boy' and with a price tag of only R35 000 ($2500) not too bad I guess.

My scooter needs transmission work and a service so a few nights back onto youtube I went to do some research. It is actually rather simple to do a minor service on a bike all that is needed is minor technical knowledge as I have and a few parts and tools. Getting into this 'biking fraternity' promises to be an interesting ride (excuse the pun) and I must say has made such a positive change to my life in terms of my frustration levels been much lower as I now have my freedom back and nothing quiet says 'freedom' like a motorbike!

I am still undecided on whether she is pretty or not?

Have a super sweet Sunday.
Cheer$;)
