Bee-Hive Blankets, All Wrapped Up For Winter!
Hey everyone, yes people do this, bee-keepers like myself are very proud of their swarms, these are harder to keep happy and present in frigid dearth months (winter) for a host of reasons, cold, wind, lack of foraging flowers etc!
These bees are based at my Landlords Daugters plot, it is very flat and very open, hence high winds and very cold in Winter. We recently purchased some bubble wrap normally used to insulate geysers and wrapped these hives!
I did a quick google search to see how other folks do it, WOW they go really overboard? Check that out here: https://www.google.com/search?q=beehive+insulation&sxsrf=ALeKk029h1vaPI5UGhk_KwT5KFrMRBVbWA:1594365124044&tbm=isch&source=iu&ictx=1&fir=yBQT95doMcl8QM%252CMwhH7YWunvxutM%252C_&vet=1&usg=AI4_-kTWd4FSTW8-5Shbg_uWuohxKJv29g&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwj3kvH2kMLqAhUURhUIHXgvCawQ9QEwEnoECAgQHQ&biw=1280&bih=699#imgrc=yBQT95doMcl8QM
We simply cut to size, wrap and tie up with duct tape, job done!
A nice view to boot and if you look really close you will see my partner in crime in this pic!
Been Winter, we have not done too much 'bee work' and I have been missing it immensely, yesterday that all changed, I got the customary 1 sting and just needed a quick shameless bee-suit selfie once it was all done!
Nature the incredible!
I trust you have an amazing weekend and be blessed!
Love and Light
Cheer$;)
