And the best housekeepers are...
Hey everyone, bees of course ;) we captured a rogue feral swarm last night upon putting them in their new home a bunch of bark off the tree found its way into the hive too.
We will get to those pics in a bit, below we have a 50/50 mix of sugar water to let the bees hydrate settle in and get a great start in their new home. It also helps them accept their new home and not want to search for greener pastures.
I put a few stones in the sugar water to give the bees a nice perch on which to stand and drink.
Here I took a close up of all the bark already removed from the hive by the bees. The reason it is still sitting on the outer ledge of the hive is because we put a queen excluder on the hive for the first day to prevent the Queen leaving hence ensuring the swarm sticks around!
Tonight upon arriving back home they looked nicely settled in I proceeded to remove the queen excluder and let them get to work, and so they did.
Within one hour the bark had all been removed and hive spick and span ready to start making some delicious honey.
NATURE THE INCREDIBLE!
Trust you have a super evening.
Cheer$;)
Looks great, I need to test some of that honey!!
