Ethereum had the potential for market cap parity during 2016 with Bitcoin before Stephen Tual and his band of incompetent coders rushed the DAO through to fund their own project, slockit. I think the Ethereum platform will do well long term but I agree with you, there is a lot of risk right now and not a ton of utility. Full Steem ahead!
Ether was $7 before DAO, with no reason to go up. The DAO raised ether to $25 in 6 weeks, and I traded ether all the way up because I purchased allot of ether at $7. I sold my last ether for btc about 2 days before the DAO crash, and then sold all my bitcoin for ether after the crash. Now I only hold steem. The DAO was good to me, but right now it's not looking so good, will be nice a few weeks from now if Ethereum recovers from all of it, and maybe even launch a new DAO
ETH way overpriced in the middle of a hard fork. Craig, I remember you buying more at $10 and posting a video of it. I went against the grain at that time and sold.
If (not when) the HF issue causes the price to crater. I'll go deep for a long trade. Until that time, no crypto is worth $10 in the middle of this shit storm.
20 JULY will see history repeat with the HF as VRC will open their ICO and they went through the same turmoil exactly 2 years ago. VRC should in theory climb high leading up to the ICO. Craig, your thoughts?
If you have two parties that want to exchange goods and services at a set rate then it's mutually beneficial. The risk of the hard fork not working is transferred to the buyer in this case. After all "The DAO" is a bust. The soft fork is a bust. There is a chance the hard fork will fail. Your assuming the hard fork will succeed.
