Gond paintings are a form of painting from folk and tribal art that is practiced by one of the largest tribes in India with whom it shares its name. Gond comes from the Dravidian expression, Kond which means 'the green mountain'.It also resemble "Aboriginal Art" from "Australia".

Gond paintings are a reflection of man's close connection with his natural surroundings.

Indian Government is trying its level best to Promote and even Protect it,so that our coming generations can enjoy and learn these Art Forms.

Interesting drawings. Do they have anything to do with tattoos?

These are the tribal art forms which are made with the natural materials available with tribes like charcoal, colors extracted from leaves and flowers,soil,cow dung etc.
Tribes make these art on the mud walls of their Houses for decoration.
Tattoos are not related with them as you can make anything with them but this art is restricted to natural resources and species available in our nature.
