In high school, my friends and I found some unique ways of having fun.
Like using a spillway below a lake as a water slide.
The algae buildup on the concrete provided a slick surface that would send us plummeting down the slope.
Those were the "good ol' days".
That dam and spillway has been demolished since these photos were taken in 2001. A new dam was constructed slightly to the north, but it is nothing like the old one!
Haha -- in the country, fun is where you find it and how you make it! Nice way of creating fun! Our lake didn't have a nice spillway like that. But we did slide down the sandhills in the winter on the snow -- into Yucca spines and Prickly Pear cactus. It looks like you had "the skills" to make your slide down the dam a lot more safe and enjoyable, lol! ; )

We wore denim jeans down the slope. They offered more protection than shorts! But the concrete was incredibly smooth.
That's awesome!! That definitely outdoes the CB hunting we did in high school.
None of my friends had CB's. How was CB hunting done?

Yeah, I miss that dam. The new one is completely re-designed. I suppose it's better in some ways, but there will be no more water slide.
: ( Those engineers have to take all the fun out of the large infrastructure, lol.
