I broke the 5,000 Steem Power mark yesterday!
This is not an accomplishment of my own. You helped me get here with your follows, upvotes, and resteems!
In the overall Steemit economy, 5,000 Steem Power is not hugely impressive. I am still a small fish (mammal, technically) in a big ocean. But this recent accomplishment feels like a rewarding validation for all the time I have spent Steeming away. I made the decision from the start that I would not power up my account from any external sources such as Bitcoin (which I do not possess, anyway), or my own bank account. I determined that I would read, write, and post in order to earn. I am doing exactly that, and having a great time!
I will continue to create posts that I feel are interesting and entertaining. I will do my best to give positive, insightful responses to others' posts. And I will also try to spread the news of Steemit in an effort to recruit new users and grow our community.

From my understanding, 5,000 is the transition point from minnow to dolphin. Unless that has changed. Thanks for your reply.
