tree tuesday — after apple-picking

in #photography7 years ago

I am done with apple-picking now.
Essence of winter sleep is on the night,
the scent of apples.

one of my favourite poets and a timely poem - love that line - essence of winter sleep is in the night - of course, that's the scent of apples.

The photo is breathtaking with the coloured leaves beneath the trees like autumn's windfall and the blue trees in the distance drawing the eye toward the chill sky. Nicely done

Thanks so much. !

Perfect photo for this time of year, I'm making apple butter on the stove and the house smells divine.

Apple butter is so good....your place must smell amazing.

It does, today is my first day on Steemit, there is a lot to learn. Looking forward to your photos and posts.

Your first day? I look forward to getting to know you. I hope you do a #introduceyourself post. :)

Perfectly beautiful for Tree Tuesday. And wonderful words by Frost. Tip!

Thanks for the comment and tip @melinda010100!! Very nice of you.

splendid

I don't know a lot about poetry (or much else for that matter) but I do remember Robert Frost and found him to be about the best for my tastes.

A few horses would love to get in there and clean up those apples. I am super happy to see you post to the tag.

Horses, yes! They'd love that. I know the wasps find them too attractive too.

These challenges give me purpose. I like trees so I thought I'd try to regularly post to the tag as well.

That awesome and to be honest, it gives my brain a bit of a stretch of how or what I can do differently to keep it fresh for next week. Obviously you nailed it this week! It gets a bit harder in the winter of course. Thankfully we can use some Christmas themes to help us through the rest of December!

True, winter might prove a bit difficult with the trees, might get boring....so the challenge will be to get more creative.

This is very nice photo of lots of apple trees. I have never seen apple trees turning colors before. They look amazing but I wish I could also experience the aroma you are talking about! Only if scent could be communicated via the internet!

Cheers.

Internet only gives us one dimensional communication....it's true. This apple orchard is huge and has many many varieties of apples to pick until the end of November. So we do get to see the leaves change color here. It's very beautiful to see them lined up - on a gray day they especially pop.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. :)

Wow! I could just imagine all the colours popping up and the wind blowing the sweet scent this way and that way. How refreshing it would be!! I just wish I had a magic carpet to zoom to your orchard for a day!

Cheers.
