a wandering tree
searching for a place to be.

I captured this driftwood and stones photo in October while on a beach walk.
The piece of driftwood was stunning, and I wanted to bring it home to create art but the wood was too heavy to move.
I pictured drying and cleaning the wood, having it cut to hang above my fireplace mantel producing an amazing piece.
During processing, I zoomed in and noted how vibrant the colored striations popped even more so than laying on the beach. I can see moss, seaweed in the greens but I am not sure what produced the other colors. Maybe the force of the water as the wood was beaten against rocks to the shoreline caused the scarring.

beautiful striations in that piece of wood - Looks like the same colour as the stones, so maybe this tree found its place to be :)
Oh ya..it does. I didn't notice until you pointed it out.
This is a beautiful piece of drift wood. I wood be torn; do I take it and make it into something useful or do I leave it in its natural habitat? At first glance the inclination is to find a way to take it home. But looking at it closer, I think or rather feel it would be better left on the beach where it belongs and where others might enjoy it too.
Thank you so much @cecicastor. I felt better leaving the piece on the shoreline too.....now I have a photo to remember it by. I suppose I could blow the picture up and put it on one of those canvasses.
Love the various shades of grey.... beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for commenting @mers!
You´re welcome.. how is your 2nd eye OP doing? Is your sight better now? I had my operation some 6 years ago, the doctor won´t operate the two eyes although I told him I would bear the consequences... And then just before the operation, he told me he would do the 2nd eye too! I was glad I did.. I was perfectly seeing after a day. I had reading glasses prescribed.. an am happy itl now that I made it at once.
Thank you for asking @mers. I'm doing well.
My vision has improved tremendously - although it's opposite to what I have been used to forever. I am now farsighted and don't need glasses except to read or use my laptop. I used to be so nearsighted before that I could take my thick glasses off to read up close or do a manicure. Now I can't see my hands without glasses. It's freeing but annoying all at the same time. Just an adjustment that will take some time.
Operated on two eyes on the same day? ooooh....that would make me nervous. I had three weeks between the two.
Glad your outcome was good too!
Beautiful shot @countrygirl. It looks like it's laughing so hard it's crying!
Thanks @doghaus :) I can't see the tears....I'm looking and looking.
Beautiful sights and overlook views. I would love to see that in person such beauty..
Thank you @kouba01!

I got to say, it is nice but also has a heavy look around it.
