Have you ever seek for help?

Yes I have, quite a few number of times. But I personally don't like the feeling and don't like being in such a situation. However life being life we are bound to be in compromising situations at times.

What was the reason for you seeking for help?

Out of my many experiences of seeking for help, I'll like to talk on the most recent which was an instance where i was in need of notes and explanations for a certain course i had in the University. It was a course i found quite challenging and needed a little bit if help with to ensure i validated it.

who do you seek help from?

Out of the few times I seek for help it's either from my parents or close relatives. But in such a situation no one could be of help except my school mates. So I sought help from my course mate who was very smart and aced all her exams. It was the first time I ever did ask her for a favour and turned out the be the last too.

Did they respond positively or negatively?

Well i don't quite know if it was positive or negative 😅 because she did agree to help me it was just the way she behaved through out the period. But I'll say it was a negative response. I had been asking for us to have a tutorial session from the period which i had asked till about 2 weeks before our exams, but due to conflicting schedules we had not been able to meet up even once. She kept on giving one excuse over the other and assuring me before the exam she was going to make sure she explained everything to me. Well it was already 7 days to the exams and she still hadn't helped me so I decided to to help myself since I saw she wasn't going to do so. I had asked for her notebook so I could photocopy and prepare myself for my exam we had set a day for me to collect the notes but on the said day it was raining and she was calling me to come meet her or else she wouldn't help me again and i was forced to get to school under the rain when I got there she was mad that i took too much to time to get there and she was late for something she had to do home. She snapped to the point where the photocopy guy felt bad for me and started telling her to calm down. I ended up letting her go with the notes and went back home.

Did you learn any lesson from such situations?

Yes I did! This instance made me realize that I needed to work extra hard in my courses i faced difficulties as i ended up failing the course. Since the experience, i had never really asked for help in school and attended all my classes and validated all my courses. It also made me learn the hard way not to trust too easily because I could be let down.

Give out a word of motivation to someone who needed help but had no one to help out

To any one who has once been in need of help and hasn't gotten any, am going to say somethings happen for a reason. Such situations always serve as eye openers although they make you realize things in a hurtful way, they make you stronger because you'll know how to manage such a situation when next you're faced with it. Never give up when there's no one to help there's a saying i believe so much in "every disappointment is a blessing".

Conclusion

Regardless of the way i may have been treated when I needed help, it has never changed the way i feel about helping others. I can only imagine how the person must've felt before coming to me so I believe it is my responsibility to not let them down and help in any way i can with as little as i can give.
