Where we live.
Sometimes I forget how lucky my family is. We are five strong, me, Hazel, baby Oban and our two beautiful dogs. We live in Linlithgow (Scotland) and this is just a 5 minute walk from our apartment.
In the opposite direction (another 5 minute walk) we have an old gravel mine which is now a national park with a pretty water feature.
Behind our apartment is the canal which connect Edinburgh with Glasgow.
And finally a 10 minute drive from our home is the magical abandond village of Bangour.
Where do you live? Let me know in the comments :)
Cotton.
Hey man, it looks like the perfect place to raise a family. And that abandoned village got me intrigued! Do you have more pictures of it in your blog?
I live in a place (Sofia) that is nothing like this - it's big, dirty, and has a lot of traffic. I have a beautiful view from my balcony towards Vitosha mountain but it takes 30 minutes by car to get there.
I have been to Sofia once. I was taking a train from Istanbul to Belgrade and stopped in your capital for a day. It is really pretty. There is a post a few months down in my blog with more photos of Bangour. You can also google it 'Bangour Village Scotland'. Tbere was also a film made there with Adrian Brody but I dont recall its name.
Did you like the communist-style architecture? :) I've never been to Scotland and I must fix that one day. I googled both the village and the movie - it turns out I've watched the movie some 10 years ago.
We have a few Bulgarian friends. Get here quick before Brexit fucks everything up... I only saw the coty centre which was quite historic. I noticed the more rural areas from the train were very run down. Communism has a certain charm but I guess historically it is rather sinister. At least in Eastern Europe. Also if you visit Scotland you have somewhere to stay (with my family that is!)
Hmm, but didn't you guys vote to stay in the EU? If yes, are you then going to have another independence referendum before Brexit actually takes place?
I am actually a sucker for communist architecture... when it comes to taking photos of it. Anyway, it is so kind of you to offer me accommodation when you don't even know me :) I guess all those stories about the hospitality and the friendliness of the Scots are true!
Sadly we did not. I voted to stay but 52% of the population voted to leave the EU. We will officially leave within a year now. You may be thinking about the Scottish Independence Referendum to leave the UK which I voted for and lost also... The UK is a shite country full of redneck racists and bias media outlets. We are essentially a mini USA.
