The Norse beer Gods are generous - Run to the pills
Aegir, Thor and Co must have found out I'm getting older today so they've sent me some of their latest brews.
Well... I'm distorting the truth a little bit... I've clicked on a fb ad that promised me a box of beer for free, kinda free as I still had to pay £5 shipping fees but whatever it takes to make the Norse gods happy.

There's 8 beautiful cans in the box I've received. They're all from Norwegian breweries. Ægir Bryggeri and Amundsen Bryggeri & Spiseri.
I've started with this little guy. He's got style!
The beer is called 'Run to the pils' and it is a pilsner, I do not really drink pilsners anymore but I did not want to be struck by lightning or have my crops decimated by locusts or whatever Gods do these days.
It is quite cloudy for a pilsner but I do like the way it looks! Lovely head as well.
The aroma is malty, smells like premium lagers but with some extra hops. It goes down easily, the malty taste is quickly balanced by the hops. It is not very bitter, just enough to counteract the sweetness; fruity notes - orange mostly and a grassy taste.
Overall it is a really easy to drink beer. As I said, I'm not really drinking pilsners anymore but I could see myself chugging a few of these down on a sunny afternoon!
Can't wait to see what the other brews are like; if this one is a sign of the things to come I might have to build Aegir a shrine, sacrifice a goat or something.
