Coruscate Covers // Mr Jones by the Counting Crows

Hi Friends!

You guys may not know this about me… but I’m actually a huge 90’s grunge fan. Some of my favorite bands are the likes of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Counting Crows, Live, U2… Speaking of that. Here’s a shot of me going to a Live and Counting Crows concert last summer. Don’t mind the half carafe of Chardonnay. #keepinitclassy

So why is it that I rarely cover their songs?

Because the rambly male vocals that defined the rock scene of the 90’s is super challenging for my soprano, slightly choiry sound to hit! Love listening to it, but is hard for me to do well. That being said – I decided to take a stab at one of my favorite Counting Crows songs! I know I’m a little pitchy at times in this one, but I still had a lot of fun playing around with it.

I hope you guys enjoy my cover of Mr. Jones by the Counting Crows.

This was several notches up. Very well done and great song choice. You were in control and your voice was the focal point. Call me crazy, but I think I heard a perfect half time breakdown in there.

Say whaaaa?? Thanks so much for cheering me on even though this definitely wasn’t a perfect recording. After about the 20th time trying to record I figured this was my best one. 😅

I’m so glad you liked it!! Ps... gonna get our super secret project recorded on Friday or Saturday. 😉
