Today also happens to be Memorial Day! The perfect day to share one of my Kentucky State Fair entries from last August.
I made this sweet apron knot dress, out of vintage (look, not age) patriotic, cotton woven prints.
I've made several dressers in this pattern and just love the way they turn out! So simple but cute!
Every summer, the @hippiedaughters and I work on different projects to enter in the fair.
It has been family tradition since I was a child, to go to the state fair each summer. Back then, my mom entered sewing, knitting, and embroidery. Her winnings payed for our trip to the fair!
Last year, I entered this patriotic dress, a newborn top, infant summer romper, soft soled shoes, and mens boxers (yep, boxers... They are now @hippiehusband's).
All are sewn on with my serger, as well as my sewing machine.
I placed 3rd with the dress! (as well as two 1st's, one 2nd, and another 3rd).
I hope you will enjoy these photos from our fair excursion! I cannot wait for this summer!

I sew all kinds of things. I have an Etsy store, however its empty at the moment (taking a break!).
I make all of our underwear, my bras, lots of outfits for the kids, and clothes other people order :)

I have went to our state fair several times growing up. Back then of course I wasn’t into crafting but now you have my attention lol! Maybe I can look into it and see if they ever have a spot for crocheting. We will most likely be taking our kids to it on the near future! I love the pics of the family car ride!! 😄 Thanks for sharing with us this week!!!

Oh yes! State fairs are so fun to go look at all the entries! That is WHY we go!
Baked goods, quilting, knitting, crocheting, sewing, embroidry, leather work, sculpture, painting, photography. You name it!
Plus, there is a 4h section!
Oh wow how nice of you to donate it for a good cause!
I go for the funnel cakes too!! 😂😂 I’ll be looking into the state fair for next Summer! Thanks for this great idea that I hadn’t thought about :D

We usually pack our own food (healthy stuff). Then share a few treats. Like corn dog, pork burger, homemade icecream, and sometimes a funnel cake!
At our fair, when you are an exhibitor, you can purchase discount tickets, which include parking. So we go on the cheap!
Oh yes the corn dogs too!! Yummy!!! 😋

A couple of years ago I worked for a company that makes show rosettes... Every time I finished an order I thought of the people receiving them and how much effort it goes into making things ...
