Our West Coast Electric Highway!
I bet most people did not know about this, we have already been doing this for a little while now, and have seen more and more charging stations up and down the entire west coast of the United States. Now from British Columbia, Canada to Baja California, Mexico (1,350-miles of freeway) we have charging stations all up and down the I-5/Hwy 99 corridor. I have seen this one in my city just pop up recently as well seen here in this pic I took of it..
You may start seeing new blue when you drive on the I-5, “Alternative Fuels Corridor” signs along major highways in California, Oregon and Washington. The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) created the nation’s first alternative fuel corridors program and the three West Coast states were successful in receiving several “signage-ready” designations. The entire 1,350-mile Interstate 5 (I-5)/Highway 99 corridor is recognized as an Electric Vehicle Charging Corridor now. Here on the west coast, we now have a robust EV charging network with thousands of Level 2 charging pedestals and dozens of DC fast chargers!!

Nice post @correctdrop. I was discussing this very type of thing a few months ago at my job. We're in the process of coming up with recommendations for our municipality to help get EV charging stations installed in newer developments. At this point we're not looking a those super fast charging stations, which are of course needed at critical places to facilitate longer road trips. Instead, we're focusing on making it easy install the slower ones at people's residences and in some commercial locations. The kind where you can conveniently park your car and plug it in all night to charge.
I think these things will become more and more important as times goes on and EVs become much more prevalent. it's the wave of the future, for sure!
