The Artists Adventure! Part 13 "Staying Focused"
So It has been a while since I posted about how my Acting is going, and figured it was time to do an update. I have another rehearsal coming up on this Tuesday, and I just did a Murder Mystery last night. But for tonight's rant, I am going to be focusing on the rehearsal I had last Tuesday, and how I could have done better personally.
So after being the most prepared for the first rehearsal, I came highly under prepared for the next one. This wasn't the most typical rehearsal that we have done as our director could not make it. So a replacement came in his place, we started to do little drills, on our lines. Where she had us come in at a random point in the script, and we had to just say our next line. Alright so I am off book, but I had memorized the script in order so just doing random jump ins was extremely hard for me. Everyone else was doing fine, I don't quite understand why this exercise was so difficult for me. By the end of the rehearsal everyone just assumed that I didn't care and didn't want to be there. Kinda a flip on the roles there, as the week I don't try everyone else does.
So the main thing I wanted to stress here was that you should always strive to do your best, even if you think others are not putting in the effort. What others do should not be of importance to you, focus on yourself, and you will set the bar. Everyone will have to step up there own personal game in order to not bring down the show. So be the example and everyone will hopefully look up towards you as a role model.
Anyways lesson learned, Steem Ya Later!
