Beauty before the storm...
Hi Steemit friend's, Puerto Rico looks beautiful, but in reality the island is currently under watch from Hurricane Irma which is currently in Category 4 and 151 mph winds.
Either way it is a true threat
Even if it just passes by the island, the dangerous winds and flooding is a huge threat to the delicate system of the island. Sewers here are unusually small, the citizens are being charged but the system is not maintained properly and in many towns completely neglected. Wooden homes are also still used a lot in the island, because of the high Caribbean heat index. These wooden homes I find very difficult to withstand strong winds of any type.
More Problems!
This island's electricity system is also a huge problem it is very antiquated and normally can not even handle a small storm, so outages is the norm. If there's no electricity the sewer system can even blow and many lives (including my Mother's home) could blow to oblivion. No electricity would also mean no drinking water. Floods are extremely easy in the island and homes are usually low rise.
Help with your prayers
So today friend's and for the next two day's (this is expected for Wednesday-Thursday for Puerto Rico) I ask for your prayers more than your up vote; I ask you for neighboring countries like Dominican Republic, St. Croix, St. Thomas and the rest of the Antilles. Thank you.

That is very nice photos around it but looks like very dark in sky, i will pray for your country and hope will happen nothing to your people. I hope strom will not come or its not huge or it will divart to others place where no one have to face damage.

I am so concerned for you. Our news media is saying the storm has been upgraded to a cat. 5 with 185 mph winds. Do everything you have to do to remain safe.
Thank you dear friend. Yes, this might get scary. I hope God has mercy on us. I'm a Christian I understand these prophecies must occur, just wish it wasn't happening during my lifetime though! 😅 I'm not used to tropical anything much and I am not from the country so all these disasters and natural phenomena are bizarre and scary to a city person like me. Btw, PR hasn't seen a bad hurricane since 1928! Though this one is even stronger than the one they happened back then. So it has never happened, and I happen to be stuck in the island. 🤦🙁
