First in-display fingerprint

The first phone with in-display fingerprint is showed at CES and surprise surprise it isn't from one of the big American companies. It uses technology from Synaptics and it is from the Chinese company Vivo. Vivo is not well known in America and Europe but it has big market in China. The big 5 there accounting for 91% of the total market are those:

  • Huawei
  • Xiaomi
  • Apple
  • Vivo
  • Oppo
As it is not an invention from a mobile company it is open to be licensed and used by other phone manufacturers. It was rumored that it was going to be used for Galaxy S8 but it wasn't ready on time. Time will show if it will get more adoption in the future with obvious choice for it being phones with no bezels like iPhone X etc.

Facebook news feed to become more friend focused

Facebook announced that it will make changes to the news feed so the time spend there is time "well spend". It will focus more on showing news and updates from real life friends and less from companies and advertisers you liked. Many people were complaining that their news feed had more top news from advertisers than real news from friends. Zuckerberg said in a post of his that he wants to help us have "meaningful social interactions".
