An Act Of Kindness

“A lady beggar went inside a passenger jeepney to ask for alms among the passengers. There were only few who gave alms to her. When she got off the jeepney, two ladies made their comment stating that these beggars were part of sindicate roaming around the cities.”

Hi Steemians!

If you were among the passenger of the jeepney stated above how would you react on the situation? Would you give money to the beggar? Do you agree with the 2 ladies who made a comment?

There are many people who don’t have the heart to help the needy and yet has the guts to throw bad comments to poor people. If they don’t want give then they should’ve fasten their mouths and be silent.

There were generous persons who gave a peso, five pesos and even twenty pesos. But how much do we need to give to really help a beggar who might not eaten a meal for a day? They may say one peso is enough because accumulation would make her buy her meal. Other would say, it’s enough because they are getting used to begging. Others would say, why these beggars won’t stretch their bones and work for their living?

Don’t you know when a beggar comes to us, God is giving each one of us an opportunity to do good deeds?

People now a days are preoccupied by earthly things and don’t care in doing good to others. God is giving us a chance to help other people especially those who can’t repay us. It is more holy to God if you help a person in need who can’t repay you anything. We shouldn’t let that opportunity to do good slip away. When we have it, lets grab it. And when you want to help, make sure it will be enough for the person you are helping. Most of the beggars are asking for money to buy food. When you are giving try to give an amount that can buy one full meal. It will give the beggar a chance to eat a decent meal. And when you do it, make it a secret. Hide your good work from the eyes of people. Most of all give with a happy heart. God will be more glad to you and you’ll add a piece of holiness to yourself.

Philippians 2:13
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Other would say, what if they didn’t spend it for food? Its not your responsibility to God anymore. If your intention is to alleviate the person’s suffering, it will be holiness for you. If he used the money to other things, it’s not your accountability to God.

Now when you don’t do anything to help the poor beggar, you are commiting a sin. You might say why? I didn’t do anything wrong. God gave you the opportunity to do good but you snabbed Him because you didn’t do the right thing to do.

James 4:17
Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is a sin.

Next time when someone ask for your help, please don’t hesitate to give a helping hand and do an ACT OF KINDNESS.
