THE CRAZY HOUSEWIFE PART ONE

Mrs. Bassey is faced with her, regular routine. She leaves office by 4:00 every day only to stop at the nanny’s cottage to pick Obioma .today she is at bafarawa market to get fresh groceries as she turns towards the yam seller , she remembered the project her boss gave her , suddenly she developed a pale look which made her stood still. “Madam wetin you wan buy na? made her regain her consciousness. I want two big yams while the yam seller was trying to get her choice ,she thought “Do I always have to be busy? I beg I need rest oooo” in a hushed tone . To mrs bassey , the only time she had to rest or to herself was when it was time to sleep and at times , Mr. bassey comes up with assertion sexual arousal and the need for him to mate with her and since it was part of the African tradition ,for a married woman to satisfy all her husband needs ,she has no option than to succumb to faith . By this time, the yam seller had gone to a colleagues shop to get mrs bassey her choice . She paid for the yam and headed home.
As she put the car to a halt in the parking lot , her first son came to her only for him to welcome her with two books . She knew that for him to have welcomed her with books, this meant “war”. Ikechukwu began to plead for help to get his assignment done . mrs bassey pat him and told him to wait for her in the living room which he reluctantly did. Mrs bassey sighted her husband from afar with friends enjoying the fruit drink she had made for her family . She greeted grudgingly and went to meet her son who had long being waiting for her with awakened curiosity . he howled at her mummy , what took you so long ? she hissed and wandered if the little boy couldn’t denote emotions .
Mr bassey was really enjoying his conversational chat and this angered the wife . She went into the kitchen to make dinner and this time ,ikechukwu came around to remind her of the assignments . She rinsed her hands ,wrote a note to her husband and gave it to her son . Out of naughtiness ,the little lad tried muttering the content of the note to himself which he couldn’t read in actual and this made mrs bassey scream at him .
Immediately ikechukwu dropped the note ,mr bassey countenance changed and was in a hurry to reply which he earnestly did . ikechukwu returned to her in the kitchen to give the note , after reading the note , mrs bassey got frustrated and ordered her son out . Ikechukwu was left in a confused state . before dinner , mr bassey came in with an angry look , mrs bassey tried attacking him with a question but he snapped her. Ikechukwu got his assingnment done before dinner
That night , mr bassey went to bed with an empty stomach , mrs bassey decided to inquire from her husband what all this meant but he hesitated to talk . mrs bassey felt like what went wrong with this man ? she went to bed with a distressed mind . mrs bassey visited her husband in his office to know what went wrong with her husband , he ordered her to go home to settle their scores
That evening , mr bassey arrived early to settle scores with his wife . he planned to do this at the dining . Mrs bassey prepared dinner and served . after the children finished eating , they went to bed . mrs bassey spoke first , what was that you did yesterday? Don’t howl at me mr bassey replied , how could you do that ? you told your son to bring his assignment to me when you know I was in a business meeting . mrs bassey was quiet for a while , as she begins to talk, tears began to roll down her cheeks , is that enough reason to change ? cant you just explain yourself besides, I never knew it was a business meeting . In deep soberness , she retired to bed .
Obioma woke up in agony as a result of malaria . she had a very high temperature and her mother couldn’t denote what was wrong with her . she had to take her to the hospital earnestly . mrs bassey explained to her husband that she cant be able to prepare breakfast which made him mad . don’t you know I cant cook for myself ? I wouldn’t love to eat in an eatery , just try make ordinary egg and tea said mr bassey . This was always the usual attitude of her husband , she at times saw him as an aggressor . Look , I can’t stay here any longer arguing with you, am tired of everyday argument , all I have to do now is to take obioma to the hospital to detect what is wrong with her. I wonder what is there in making eggs that you cant do yourself , she left home in annoyance .
