DIY GIFT- Homemade Chocolate Cake Mix in a Jar!
Hi to all my steemian friends! I hope you're having a great week!
I'd like to share with you something I made a few days ago. Since I don't see myself as such a creative DIY person, I was very pleased with myself when I saw the outcome of this :)
A few days ago my family and I were invited to a friends dinner. They have 2 young girls who adore cooking and baking, so I decided to bring them a little something as well :)
I came across many DIY gift ideas on the net but the ones I loved most were the gifts in a jar! They are so cute, easy to put together and you can choose any theme and go with it from there :)
I have a very simple and delicious chocolate cake recipe that has been in the family for years so I decided to share that with them. I bought a few things from the store, put it all together and they loved it!!
The recipe requires 3 other ingredients and then it simply ready to be baked.

DIY Chocolate Cake Mix in a Jar - a fun gift that's easy to make
Chocolate Cake Mix in a Jar
You'll need:
- A jar
- Label
- Marker
- Card for instructions
- optional- decorative stickers or ribbons
Ingredients for the cake mix:
1 cup sifted self raising flour
1 cup Nestles nesquick cocoa powder
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup small dark chocolate chips
What to do:
- In a bowl mix together flour, cocoa powder and sugar.
- Put the mixture in a jar and layer it out.
- On top of the mixture place the chocolate chips.
- On the card you the write the instructions with the remaining ingredients needed to add in order to make the cake:
In a bowl mix together:
- cake mix
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup oil
- 200gr sour cream
Pour into a 9 inch greased pan and bake at 180° Celsius for 30 - 35 min.
