We determine our reality every single moment
How’s life, Steemit?
I was thinking of personal growth, progress, self development and all this kind of things and I came up with the idea that I am going to share with you guys. Obvious things, but it’s usually the obvious things that we ignore and forget.
We can easily answer if someone asks us about our objectives and plans for the next year, for the next 10 or 20 years, right? But we can’t say anything about what we are doing now at this moment.
It is actually not so hard: you might be drinking coffee, standing in a queue, eating, yawning or performing any other mechanical action.
Is it really important for you to be here at this moment? Why are you doing exactly this and nothing else? What so important is happening to you right now?
Most likely, you don’t think about it and you believe that you have to “do the right thing to change something”.
There is one big delusion that one action can change everything.
Many believe that need to do something, that “right thing”, and they will achieve everything at once. But as a matter of fact, that one right thing is of limited value.
Combination of all actions during some period of time is that what matters.
Look back at your day now and you will see how effective you were and how far you moved towards your objective. How many effective decisions you made to change your current reality.
If you look back at you week, you will see a whole lot of your small actions and decisions that led you where you are now. What if you look at even longer period?
Every minute you make some decision, and this decision can help you develop or hold you at the same level or even get you back. What really determines your reality is this very moment.
You don’t even think about it. You feel tired – you drop your work; you want to go out during a serious talk – you go out; you cannot find the right words – you stop talking.
We make a lot of small actions and small decisions every moment and they might not matter separately. But if we look at them as a sequence, we will see the importance of every one of them. There is no “right action” that you need to do, it is all about those small “background actions” that we often perform mechanically and that make us effective or not.
Wish you all to be productive!
Youre right, we concentrate on what to do in the future or even near future but miss the small decisions we make automatically at present time, which have an affect on us as well!
