This is my "Friday Blue" Color Challenge shot..

Took this shot quite a while ago, before I switched to Nikon. This was shot in Howth, Dublin, with a Canon 5D mk3 and 35mm IS F2 lens. I LOVE that lens and if I ever return to shooting with Canon cameras it will be the first lens I buy. The model is Merrin. She was so much fun to spend the day with.

Cheers P!

Blue Jean jacket?! :D
Great shot!

Definitely not the bluest Friday Blue pic out there! Cheers man!

Atmosphere and "feel of the moment" is good but I'm slightly bothered about the model being almost in the dead center of the frame. Btw. how would you describe the ergonomics between Nikon and Canon after switching? Was it hard getting used to?

Hey thanks for your comment!

The model dead centre was an aesthetic I was obsessed with at the time. It was something Andre Josselin was doing and I was trying to emulate his style. Usually I don't mind the subject being dead centre (personally), but in this shot above, she probably would have been better placed to the right, because she was gazing so directly camera-left!

After switching, I still miss Canons ergonomics and lightning fast AF. I do find Nikons sensors to be outstanding though so the trade off is worth it for what I do. I believe Canon have improve dynamic range in the 5D4 though, so that's cool.

What a beautiful shot...! I love the sweet light on her hair...

Cheers Barbara!

nice and a beautiful shot :)

I remember you had a ton of great shots from that shoot!!

Grate portrait! I why the sun is working as a rim light to light her hair is awesome. I also like how this shot feels so casual.

Cheers,

Cheers Kelly. We just walked around taking hundreds of shots that day. The AF on that 35mm F2 IS is lightning fast, which helped.

Cheers dude!

great shoot!! i loved.
