Maramures - tradition and magic #4

We had a little break, but we are back with unknown knowledge about land of Maramures
As the Christmas has passed, and winter is here, I will tell you about a custom in old part of Maramures. If you ever have the privilage to visit it or cross by and you stay there, or you are invited...know this: they will put what they have the best on the table...food and drinks. And there will be a lot. They will ask you to taste, if you are hungry, gid in, they will enjoy seeing you eat with big appetite...it shows that you like it and pay respect. If you are not hungry, say no first when they ask you, but they will insist and then you should taste to show good sense. Be careful at palinca, the traditional drink...it is very strong...very...so don't drink like you normally drink shots of teguilla or whisky...it will knock you off your feet :). But everything you eat and drink is made by them...sausage, vegetables, cheese, wine...

Maramures has remained the only area in Roumania that still preserves its traditions for hundreds of years, it is a pity that not all regions keep it, we have some wonderful customs.
