PRAYER SECRETS

The only time you may know that God has been listening to your prayers is when He answers you. Answer to prayers is very important. Most times it is not a matter of knowing how to pray that makes you pray more but getting answers make you pray more. It is very frustrating to pray and not getting answers, is like talking to someone for so many hours without the person saying a word. it is indeed frustrating and discouraging. You know your prayers are heard when you start getting answers.

If I had called, and he had answered me; yet would I not believe that he had hearkened unto my voice? Job 9:16

Job is saying i will only believe that he has heard me when has given me an answer. Your faith is increased in God whenever you receive answers from Him concerning your prayers.

In Job's prayers to God about his predicaments, all he needed was an answer from God about why things had turned bad against him. I pray that God hears and answers our prayers so that our faith may increase in Him. In one of David's prayer he pleaded God to make his prayers acceptable to Him.

He said:

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my redeemer.Psalm 19:14

BEFORE YOU PRAY YOU MUST KNOW THAT:

• God answers when we call

If God will not answer you when you pray then He wouldn’t have told you to pray in the first place. He gave a promise to Jeremiah concerning prayer and He says:

Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.Jeremiah 33:3

David was a man who knew he will be answered whenever he prays and so he says:

Give ear, O LORD, to my prayer; And attend to the voice of my supplications. In the day of my trouble I will call upon You, For You will answer me. Psalm 86:6-7

If there is a man to pray then there is a God to answer.

• He will answer those who also answer Him.

Communication with God is a two way affair. When you call Him you expect him to answer you and likewise God too. Many a times ignore God's voice and rather expect Him to listen to ours whenever we pray.

The Lord will answer us always when we are very obedient to His voice. When you answer the Lord's voice it is a sign you love Him, respect Him, obey and honour Him.

Because I have called and you refused, I have stretched out my hand and no one regarded, because you disdained all my counsel, and would have none of my reproof, I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes, when your terror comes like a storm, and your destruction comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you. Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; they will seek me diligently, but they will not find me.Proverbs 1:24-28

GETTING SPEEDY ANSWERS

There are times when you will need answers speedily, what will you do to get speedy answers?

Hear my prayer, O LORD, And let my cry come to You. Do not hide Your face from me in the day of my trouble; Incline Your ear to me; In the day that I call, answer me speedily. Psalm 102:1-2

In this prayer David tells God that he needed a quick answer because he was in trouble and so he prays: answer me speedily. There are times in life when you will need a quick or a speedy answers to your prayers and so like David we charge God to be fast in answering us. We always feel disturbed and worried when our prayer answers delay.

What will make God answer us speedily or quickly?

BY PRAYING ALWAYS AND NOT FAINT

Jesus gives us answer to having a speedy answer or quick answer in Luke 18:7-8
Jesus said we should always pray and not cease.

Praying always and not ceasing enables us to have a strong relationship with God to the extent that he knows and recognizes us whenever we need Him most.

Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart, He says we should always pray and not lose heart. You only lose heart when your are not getting answers and at this moment prayer becomes difficult and frustrating. Luke 18:1

God will surely give us all the answers we ever needed but sometimes He also looks out for our persistence and consistence. Jesus explains that it is those that are persistent and consistent in prayer that God answers speedily.

"And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? "I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?" Luke 18:7-8

Any friend of who always call and check on you is the friend you too will alaways check up on. Our problem is that today we are on fire for God and next day we are off.

Such attitude will always delay our answers because it is an indication to God that He is only needed when we need Him.

For speedy answers we must pray always and not faint.
