Danish Beauty Queen

in LifeStyle4 years ago

As we all know, there are very many intermarriages in the European royal family, and the members of the royal family basically have some relatives among themselves, like the lady we are going to introduce today.

She is the daughter of a king, a king's wife, a king's aunt, a queen's own mother, or a queen's own mother.

She is Queen Ingrid of Denmark, her father is the old king of Sweden, her mother is a British princess, she married the old king of Denmark, gave birth to the current queen of Denmark...

This imperfect but strong and shrewd enough woman, fragile and sensitive because of her mother's early death, and was criticized for having three daughters in a row, but she was never affected by gossip, but focused on what she wanted to do, and went ahead.

Her life was destined to be extraordinary because of her noble birth, but it was her own ability that really made her significant in all the royal houses of Europe.

The fragile and powerful young princess

Ingrid did not start out as a queen, but as Princess Ingrid of Sweden. Her father was the then Crown Prince of Sweden, and her mother was Princess Margaret, granddaughter of Queen Victoria of England.

Ingrid and her mother

Her parents met in Egypt in the winter of 1904-05 and it was love at first sight. Both parents were happy with the marriage and they were soon married at Windsor Castle in 1905.

This was not just the union of two couples, but marked the first marriage between the British and Swedish royal families in half a century.

After a honeymoon on an Irish estate, Margaret returned to Sweden with her husband and the two "lived a quiet and happy life, loving each other and devoted to their rapidly growing family."

Princess Margrethe had five children, all boys except Ingrid, and the family lived in the royal palace in Stockholm, as well as other mansions and summer homes.

In young Ingrid's heart, it was probably the warmest, happiest, carefree time of her life.

She had the most beautiful and best mother in the world, Princess Margrethe loved gardening and flowers, and in Sweden, whenever there was a royal procession, people would throw flowers into the carriages she passed.

Once the carriage even had to stop because the then little Princess Ingrid was almost about to be smothered by all the flowers people were frantically throwing in.

Marguerite was also very interested in all kinds of sports. She would ski, skate and play field hockey in the winter, and play tennis and golf in the summer.

She also loved photography, painting, and her love of gardening led her to work with her husband and children to renovate the English-style garden on the estate.
