Mastercard Creates Crypto Department

With Libra tied up in regulation and government opposition, it looks like it may be a while before it gets off the ground, if it ever does.

One of the big companies that agreed to run a Libra Node was Mastercard. And while it doesn't appear they will be developing their own coin, they are hiring and filling up the ranks to successfully join the space. It seems they want to stay up with the technology as it develops.

Last month, the CEO of Visa, Alfred F. Kelly said that Visa is in discussions with Libra and its final decision to join the project will be determined by “a number of factors,” including the ability of the Libra Association to address all regulatory concerns.
