Halloween at the Preschool

I have alot of fun things planned for Halloween at school this coming week. I think the children are going to love it.

I have hidden things all over the classroom for the children to find. A treasure hunt for Halloween. Things like skeletons, spiders, bats, witches, pumpkins and even a skeleton spider.

We will be carving a jack-o-lantern out of a pumpkin. The children will be cleaning the pumpkin out so they can get to feel and smell the inside of the pumpkin and see what pumpkin seeds look like. After Halloween we will do the exploding pumpkin by putting bakin soda and vinegar inside of the pumpkin.

For fun we will be making candy corn slime/playdough. It's fun and easy to do. Here is the recipe if your interested:
3/4 bag of candy corn
1Tablespoons of vegetable oil.
Up to 1/4 cup of powder sugar
Melt candy corn with vegetable oil in the microwave in a microwave safe bowl. I melt the candy at 30 second intervals. It takes about 1 1/2 minutes to melt. Mix well. Oil won't completely mix in but it helps keep the candy from sticking to your hands.
Dust a area with powder sugar and knead for about 2 mnutes. Now work in some unmelted candy corn. If it is to hot the candy corn will melt. This recipe is edible.

We will be also watching a Halloween movie and having a Halloween party where the children and teachers dress up in costumes.

Halloween can be a fun time at school if you make it that way.
