My Children Are Confrontational...

in #spirituality7 years ago

This is mostly for christians, but all are welcome to debate...

From the earliest I could remember, my mother always did her best to give us a great education. She never trusted or liked the public schools, so decided to homeschool us until we all were 6 years old.

I was always picked on, and naturally hated being there, and almost quit a number of times.

It was not until many years later that I really understood what was being taught. Going to church, I was told that GOD (YAHVAH) created everything in 6 days. In school, I was told that everything came about by chance over a 6 billion year time period.

Because of this, I often hear of parents who have issues with their children saying that they are just not on the same page. Fights erupt, and parent and child are at odds.

This happens because parents are duped into believing that their children need the public school system. For 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, a total stranger is raising our children. Even if we know the person, it is not their responsibility to do so.

As believers, we are supposed to be in charge of our childrens education, and we have been given that duty by our creator. Allowing the state to take this on is not christian, and not going to bring us closer as a family unit.

The intent is to bring the family down, and force parents to accept the state way of education. This causes discord, and confusion, and causes our children to question their faith.

We need to either homeschool them, or form a biblical education center in each city that is headed by a believer.

If we wonder what happened to our children, we can thank the secular education system. LEts remember that we, as believers, need to take charge of their education...

I homeschooled my kids for many of the same reasons. Adam Smith, in his Theory of Moral Sentiments wrote that education is the obligation of parents because he feared that public education would turn kids into puppets of the state. By the way, he wrote it around 1752!

We are the stewards of their minds...
😊

We are indeed...quite a responsibility! I found mine to be very perceptive. There's an old saying: The best sermon is a good example. If they witness good behavior consistently, they adopt it.

I agree 100% and have seen it for myself...
