The Death of SEO 1994-2017
Search engine optimization (SEO) is currently a hottest topic in online marketing than e-mail. E-mail is often seen as "old school". But in addition to e-mail's wide reach and influence today, I believe that the future of marketing is more about e-mail than it is about SEO. In fact, now is the time to focus on developing your publishing skills because SEO may soon be out of your reach.
Search engine optimization is becoming increasingly competitive and expensive, with little end in sight. As "new media" are increasingly becoming just "media" because the media conglomerates continue to take over Web-based news, video, and magazine-type start-ups, SEO is increasingly becoming a game for the big boys, too. This means that small companies and individual entrepreneurs are likely to get priced out of the SEO market in coming years.
Here's why: Companies that have succeeded in achieving a high search engine ranking today will continue to reinvest their profits to maintain their high rankings for valuable keywords. This investment will create a new sites, new software, new training courses, and new technologies specifically designed to attract top search engine results. This is already creating a "new establishment" of online vendors that dominate the search engine rankings for valuable keywords clustered around each target market.
Because humans have limited attention spans and aren't likely to ever click through to the third, fourth, or fiftieth page of search engine listing, those firms that control the first page of results with their top-ranked sites will be difficult to unseat.
This is why you need to start collecting e-mail addresses and publishing nozzles now. You need to establish and grow your list today so that you can continue to compete online as SEO becomes harder and more expensive.
Without an active e-mail list full of your company's fans, you will be stuck with either increasingly expensive pay-per-click advertising or word of mouth as your main online marketing tool. Word of mouth is expensive to start if you don't have list to begin with - but if you start building an e-mail list now, you will soon have it available for marketing.

Interesting idea!
I have been working in SEO for many years, and in my opinion, the principle of SEO is useful across the board, but it don't think it's primary goal is to sell products, it just happens to be used that way a lot nowadays.
It doesn't work anymore unless you are politically correct and shaking hands with a big corporation of some sort.
Also, when people talk about SEO they normally only mean Google SEO, and what that does is force everyone to do it exactly how Google want it done.
And of course we all know that Google now heavily control the first 2 pages of any search.
All that is going to change, I think we need the following:
Remove the power of corporations and governments from our main conversation platforms, we need all ideas out in the open so the best ones can naturally rise to the top.
replace google with decentralised version (with massive incentives to get involved - maybe SEARCHCOIN????
replace facebook - maybe with FaceCoin or something STEEM powered????
replace youtube and content creation sites with decentralised high incentive systems just like Dtube and soon - Viewly
basically none of this has happened yet, it's time to dream big and make our ideas known, at that point SEO will be nothing more than filling in the right fields in a form.
All that will matter is the value of the content!
I agree, content is a king...
Other blogsites thus requires SEO good thing not here at steemit.:)

Steemit conquers need for SEO
Right. You do not need to think of SEO when writing here and even know what it means. :P
