Bad day or a blessing in disguise
Today August 18, 2017 at around 8:00 in the morning, from home to my office, I am driving my humble car when a pick-up truck with no license plate crash from the rear. My tail-light suffer a heavy damage, it broken down to pieces.
The truck is a Mitsubishi Strada CLX and registered to some Astellas Pharma Philippines., INC. When I get off to look around, it's driver look so worried behind the wheel. And I found that he is only a driver, newly hire, bread winner and a father of four.
In the meantime traffic enforcer approach us and advice both parties to go to the nearest police station for a police blotter. Since he is just a driver and a father of four, a 5,000.00 pesos for participation fee to the insurance company , and a reckless driving ticket violation amounting 2,000.00 pesos has something worth for him and his family.
So, instead of following what the traffic enforcer has told us. As a road rage victim, I had the overall control on the situation and no one can dictate me of what should I do. For us not to cause another hoard of traffic I invite him to pull over and have some little chit chat to know more about him.
And to be sure that he's saying only the truth, I borrow some 2 minutes reading all the information on the car registration and on his drivers license (OR CR). And it turns out, he's telling only the truth. So I decided not to file any complaint against him, as stated above, it cost him to shell out some 7,000.00 pesos which is a big amount of money to for a father of four like him plus a police record.
It's just a car, a material things, my insurance company will take good care of that. Of course I need to shell out some 5,000.00 pesos as a participation fee and a long long long long explanation to my wife tonight.
Honestly, I bit worried for him, (for the damage in his pick-up truck it would surely cost him some 5,000.00 pesos participation fee) that's why I get his number and I gave him mine, in case he need some financial assistant with regards to the participation fee, I tell him not to hesitate to call for a help, I tell him that, I am willing to help those who in need. Not because I have to much but I know the feeling, I was once in need before!
