Will Steemit and Blockchain technology Allow you to Truly Live Free from the Government? and Why do we get taxed for income from something the Government doesn't support Anyways?

Cryptocurrency was born out of a necessity to free ourselves from the control of any government. To ensure that no one person or governing body has control or dictates what we do and how we live our lives when it comes to our finances. As it works today - our respective governments have full control on our individual currencies, their value, and in some cases what we are allowed to do and not do with them.

When it comes to Steemit and other Blockchain technologies, we are reminded on a daily basis that living free from control is possible. If you look at the trending pages, you see fellow Steemit community members who earn enough to live a truly comfortable life away from the prying eyes of the government.

Take for example some of the more well know content creators like @sweetsssj. She lives a Steemit life most of us dream of having. Her posts earn her thousands of dollars a day and funds most of her adventures, travels, and experiences, which she eloquently shares with us. I imagine her earnings afford her a fairly comfortable life not having to rely on your typical 9 to 5 job in which a portion of your earnings goes automatically to the government.

Another popular content creator with a horde of followers is @heiditravels. She is a well respected content contributor who funds all of her travels as well as her charitable efforts using her earnings from Steemit. She has some of the clearest and most well thought out posts that I have seen. I would imagine she lives somewhat off of the grid and earns just enough to survive and be comfortable.

Recently a bill was passed in the United States requiring all travelers to declare their assets including crypto currencies, but what is stopping us from not doing so. As I mentioned in the title - Why should we report earnings, or even pay a system that doesn't necessarily even support the platforms we are earning the income from. It just doesn't make sense! I'm not saying you shouldn't report your income from Crypto and Steemit earnings and I firmly believe that we should still do our part as citizens, I just feel we need to loosen the grip and free ourselves from being controlled.

I have lived in countries where a persons paycheck is barely enough to pay for food, electricity, and clean water, and yet the Government still feels it necessary to take a portion of it for taxes making it even more difficult to survive. Steemit for many is a way out and a solution to this. I mention only Steemit, because not everyone can afford to mine, earn, or trade other currencies. It doesn't care who you are, where you are from, and what you do. It is truly global. You get rewarded and supported for what you provide - and it is all yours - no one takes any part away from you. This free system has been able to change so many people's lives for the better without asking for anything in return.

The government should take a lesson from our community and what has been created. We are all here to support each other. Our community and the blockchain have proven that we as people are capable of managing ourselves free from the control of a government body. The blockchain is proof that decisions can be made for the betterment of the people through collaboration and a truly free and democratic system.
