Globular Cluster M3

M3 is a globular cluster of stars in the constellation of Canes Venatici. This cluster is one of the largest and brightest, and is made up of around 500,000 stars. It is estimated to be 8 billion years old. It is located at a distance of about 33,900 light-years away from Earth. M3 is located 32 000 light-years above the Galactic plane and roughly 39 000 light-years from the center of the Milky Way. (dixit Wikipedia)

This photo was taken from my garden with a scope (Newtonian 200/1000), my old mount (EQ6) and a CCD camera (Atik One 6.0), in black and white with R,G,B and L filters, for a total of 30 minutes exposure in May 2016.
