Clemson nearly shutout NC State Wolfpack 41-7
The Clemson Tigers remain undefeated as they nearly shutout the NC State Wolfpack, holding them to just one touchdown. True freshman Trevor Lawrence managed the game well enough, but mainly utilized his running backs to put points up on the board. Running Back Travis Ettienne broke a school record of having three touchdowns each
game in the last three games. The NC State Wolpack lead the FBS in 3rd down conversion until they met the Clemson defense, who only allowed them to convert 2 out of 13 3rd downs. That with the three turnovers they gave up pretty much set them up for disaster. The Tigers climbed to the #2 spot behind Alabama after Ohio State's upsetting loss to Purdue.
NC State's Ryan Finley threw for 21/34 for 156 yards, no touchowns, and two interceptions. True Freshman Trevor Lawrence threw for 26/39 308 yards, averaging 7.9 yards per completion with one touchdown. Clemson Running back Travis Ettiene had 15 carries for 39 yards only averaging a mere 2.6 yards per carry, but with three touchdowns.
Clemson Wideout Tee Higgins had 8 catches for 119 yards, averaging 14.9 yards per catch with one touchdown, with a long of 46 yards.
The Tigers prepare to play the Florida State Seminoles next week in Tallahassee.
