Drone and Robot Sports!
A number of “sports” are emerging involving drones and terrestrial robots.
Besides being great fun, and attracting interest from the general public towards robotics, which is a good thing, these sports are a trigger for educational projects and a very good testbed for innovations.
FPV Drone Racing
This is perhaps the sport which is attracting most money and media audience. It’s about piloting a drone on a racing circuit using FPV goggles receiving a video stream from an onboard camera.
To get an idea, check out this report from the World Drone Prix in Dubai, where the winning team got a whopping $250,000.

This stuff lies at the interface between traditional motor sports and videogames. It’s an excellent test bed for new drone technologies, like Formula1 for cars.
RoboSoccer
Since 1997, Robocup has been fostering research in the field of autonomous, cooperative robots.
Starting from the fun of having teams of robots playing soccer, this initiative is instrumental in supporting robotics education in schools worldwide. They also run projects focusing on robots for rescue missions.

There are a couple companies selling full packages now and one that i know of for under 500 you get goggles the drone one battery a viewer and the controller. Not bad really. Find me on steemspeak if you want the link.
