Interesting creatures with transparent body..!!!
Pacific barreleye
Barreleye fish has transparent head and got it's name due to it's barrel shaped eyes which are located inside the head to look straight upward to detect the silhouette of prey. The two spots on it's mouth looks like eyes, which are actually olfactory organs similar to human nostrils.
Greta oto
Greta oto is known as “Glass Winged Butterfly” because of it's the transparent section in the wings. The tissue between the veins of it's wings looks like glass due to lack of color scales found normally in other butterflies.
Icefish
Ice-fish also know as white crocodile fish, which is seen in Antarctic region. Researchers confirm that the Antarctic Ice-fish are the only vertebrates that lacks both red blood cells and hemoglobin.
Salp
Salps are tiny barrel shaped organism found in warm seas especially in the Southern Hemisphere. Salps are almost transparent that you could see the stomach visible. Each smaller than your hand can link together to make luminous chain setup up to 4.6meters long.
Salps are now credited with most carbon sequestering organism, who constantly eat Phytoplankton and expel compact fecal pellets rich in carbon.
Glass squid
The species of Cranchiidae squid family are commonly known as “Glass Squids” due to the transparent nature of it's body.
Ammonia solution inside its body makes it balloon like shape resembles hand blown glass bottle and it helps the squid to float easily.
Ghost shrimp
Ghost shrimp is also known as Glass Shrimp which is the most interesting type of aquatic creature that you could keep in your fish tank. Ghost Shrimp body is transparent and an orange yellow colored spot is visible on the tail. Food searching behavior make Ghost Shrimp a friendly pet for freshwater aquarium lovers.
Jelly fish
Jelly fish can be found in all kind of oceans, mainly in warm region. They have transparent thin film body and have bio-luminescence to attract prey. Not all the jellyfishes are transparent.
Some species of jelly fish produce poisonous venom. The stinging mechanism can be triggered by the lightest touch and it can release toxin faster than a gun releases a bullet. Jellies use these stings for hunting and for protection.
