Making comments under con and pro easy to read and implementing a Recommended feature on Debato

Debato is an open source platform for arguments. It is meant for those who value information and love to discuss matters of high importance.

Debato is an online platform that accommodates online debate on either big or small topics for people to react on. Debato is a hub for argument. People share different opinions and conversations ensue which leads to unending arguments. The platform offers its users the ability to express their thought and views on matters arising. Debato is built on the steem block chain and it rewards its users for taking part in an argument.
My idea will be based on the pro and con, and a better way to display discussions for users.

Proposals

Recommended: On the platform, there are three ways in which argument is filtered.

The New, trending, and hot features works differently just according to how they are programmed. The new shows every new discussion on the platform. You can view the discussions that are on the trend on trending and hot posts can also be checked as well. What about the discussions of my choice? What I love to talk about? My area of expertise and specialization or what I have flair for?

As time goes on, there would be many discussions on the platform and the best way to make the platform relate well with the users is through implementing a feature that would display discussions that suits every user’s area of specialization and what they enjoy talking about. Every user would have filled a kind of questionnaire that would help the system generate discussion related to their data.

The tags would have been the easiest way, but it only displays a particular set of discussion in that tag. The recommended feature would cut across every area and fetch discussions for users to react on. For instance, if I have hospitality, science, sport, and politics in my database. The recommended feature will search through and display every discussion related to those areas. I believe this would add more life to the existing wonderful features on the platform.

This is how the recommended feature will look like if implemented

Easy way to view discussions: I thought of this idea when I was reading through one discussion I started on the platform. I have 24 comments under it, but reading through them on debato is not so dandy, especially the comments in the pro and con sections. Maybe this is because of how everything is dispersed, I thought. Professionally, the platform should have a pro and con which is available. I give debato a plus here. However, reading through seem clunky especially when there’s over four to five comments on them.

Let me cite an example. In the second comment under con here, I have 2 comments under it. To view these comments, you have to click and click. Please, check the below video and see what I'm driving at.

In the above video, you would notice that I clicked on one comment to read the one below it. If the comment on that trail is 20, I will continue clicking to read the comment behind another comment. That was why I mentioned initially that reading comments is not dandy at all.

This part needs to be visited and simplified. How can this be achieved? A click on each con or pro will display a page where all comments under it will be accessed. This will make it easy for users to read every comments on a click by scrolling.

Surely, there will be more than one con or proon every discussions, and replies will follow. The image above shows how the interface would look if a con and comments under it is viewed. This idea will make it easy and nice to read comments under the pro and con without having to click multiple times before reading comments.

Benefits

The recommended feature will help everyone to get discussions related to their area of specialization. What they love talking about also would be displayed without having to search through tags. This way, it will be easier for debaters to find discussions they can react to easily. It will help the platform to make more progress with more people arguing professionally and not bluntly.

As per the easy way to view a discussion, It is very important to provide an environment with an easy approach for users . This second feature will make it easy-to-read comments on discussion. If you read this conversation on steemit, you will feel the vibes in the argument, but go to debato and read those comments, you won’t get all the gist fully and reading will not be enjoyable. Adopting this measure will help to tackle this and it will make the platform more friendly in term of reading comments from various discussions.
