Street Photography Contest Week 05 Entry #2

We call this "talaba", a seafood delicacy in our place and in most places in the Philippines.

As a kid, I used to harvest these and just eat them raw. However, they are susceptible to "red tide", some sort of infection that is harmful to humans when ingested by eating talaba. Nevertheless, people love this seafood together with beer or alcoholic drinks like rhum as "pulutan".

No me gustan las especialidades del mar, la única manera de que lo consuma, es que este ebria primero jajaja...

I hope his wares sell well @cjclaro

NO distingo muy bien que tipo de marisco es, pero si es una pequeña almeja, le decimos "chipi chipi"
Buena foto, hermano, todo un profesional.

It's the shell that grows on rocks, belongs to oyster family. Not professional, my friend. A struggling one, that is. ;-)

Perfect shot !

Welcome !

How the taste of talaba ? Nice click.

It has a fleshy taste and.salty too, when eaten raw. But some prefer it boiled. The interesting part is when you open the shell and sip the soup inside it.

Wow interesting, i think i have seen this in discovery channel. Thanks for the reply.
