Just then, from no where thunder bolt Announced the arrival of our dreadest friend, bia tah a tah ta, immediately
The smiling sky frowned with thick dark cloud as in time of apocalypse

Market women covering their wares school children happy play in what they call sweet rain, working class panicking
Aout in other not to be drenched
In their pressure suits and coasts
But commuters dreaming of an impending increase on the amount of transport fare

Lagos gradually became flooded, outskirt and street all wet with the heavy down pout, kettle boiling water
For an hot tea, with smiles on the
Faces of the children, with wishes
That the moment never ends

A day after the farmer check his crops for erosion, the populace estimate
The damage the rain has cost them
The commuters silently praying for
Another bountiful day, rain in Lagos, rain in Lagos.
