To detect learning problems it is necessary to determine several points that are key and not always addressed. Adults need these key points to infer or detect possible learning problems.

A learning problem is seen or noticed in children who are preschoolers, this means, therefore, that it will be something that will be noticed in children who are in primary school; In general, the learning problems are not detected in the preschool age, since children are acquiring skills that will be necessary to acquire different skills that will be part of the growth process and that will gradually develop in later years.

Learning problems will be detected more or less in children who are seven (07) years of age and older, because children are supposed to have acquired the following:

  • Literacy.

  • Mathematical operations.

That is to say, it is understood that they already have all the precursors and the necessary skills for the different learnings.

  • Children with writing problems.

  • Children with problems in mathematical operations.

There will be children with many problems regarding addition, subtraction and, of course, multiplication and division.

  • Problems in children will vary; The problems of executive function or the basic connectors of learning are cognitive skills, which develop from childhood to adolescence and serve for proper learning.

  • In executive functions, failures will be seen in: planning, analysis, organization of information, working memory, among many other executive functions that help to know what to do with any information.

  • Regarding the basic connectors of learning can be found: attention, memory, motivation, among others. Where in this segment, cognitive skills are essential for proper learning.

It is important to make a global evaluation of learning, to see where the faults are located and why they are located in the child, to determine the occurrence that affects the child and does not allow him to learn as he should.

All the failures mentioned can cause poor school performance, frustration and the fact is that these problems cause a real difficulty for children.

Before thinking about any problem related to learning, it is necessary to verify two aspects of importance that can interfere with correct learning:

  • There must be a good vision.

  • There must be a good hearing of the ear.

When you have a vision problem and it has not been detected, this is more likely to lead to poor school performance.

In the aspect of hearing, if the child does not listen well, he will not have a good answer and, of course, there will be a learning problem.

These two factors should be the first to be reviewed in a child, and then, later evaluations, which may correct the learning problems.
