The beginning of the shortcomings begin to notice at the age of one (01) year, where therefore it is noted because they begin to acquire their first words; When they reach the age of two (02) years they begin to join, for example, "two (02) words".

This type of combination should be observed in children, but to have this type of combination, children should have a vocabulary of at least fifty (50) words. Increasingly, he will begin to increase a much more extensive vocabulary, where with a more capable age, he will begin to form sentences.

When the child does not have the expected vocabulary, it is a red focus and, therefore, the evaluation with a language therapist is important.

The problem nowadays is that adults tend to normalize that children do not speak at an early age, and that is not normal. Therefore, the importance of being attentive and detecting the child's fluency is essential.

If it is detected that the child at two (02) years has not spoken and does not join words, the main thing is to take it to a valuation with a specialized therapist.

By taking the child with a speech therapist, you will help the child with the language gap and it will be reduced. But if, on the other hand, more time is allowed to pass, the gap tends to widen. The linguistic level must be worked to be shorter and less tedious for the child.

The big problem with the language gap is that sometimes it masks other more severe problems, such as:

  • The specific language disorder.

  • Autism spectrum disorder.

When a timely assessment is made, the prognosis of the child's development not only of language but also of other cognitive skills will be much better.
