Food cooked in bamboo tubes

The indigenous people of Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) of Bangladesh have a system of cooking curry and rice in bamboo tubes. This cooking process is followed when people go to deep forest and stay day long or several days together for different purpose of cutting bamboos or trees or collecting leaves or edible roots or hunting etc. This system relieves them from extra trouble of carry cooking pots with them. In course of time, they try this cooking system at home too. Normally fish and meat are cooked in such bamboo tubes. The curries cooked in bamboo tubes are rather tasty to them with a fresh bamboo flavor. Green bamboo tubes are used in such cooking. The meat or fish are mixed with spices, salt and oil and put in the tubes, the mouth is closed with green banana leaves and put the bottom of the bamboo tube in profuse fire to cook.
