Hello steemians, Happy New week. I trust that you are healthy and happy wherever you are.
Please stay with me as I write on the human health.
Human health is a topic that brings the feeling of nostalgia. I vividly remember the first time I heard of human health. It was in my junior secondary(in Nigeria it is called junior secondary in other part of the world it is junior high school or junior year) my teacher on physical and health education drummed the World Health Organization's definition of health.
health is a complete physical,mental,and social wellbeing not merely the absence of diseases.
To me good health is the recipe for a fruitful life. As we all can remember during the beginning of spread of the Corona virus to all parts of the world. When the whole word was locked down, nobody could walk around freely, economic activities were shut down and the world went into recession that should tell you how important a matter good health is. It enforces the popular saying that health is wealth.
Every human being needs good health and I believe that we all aspire to be healthy at all times. Here are some tips to maintaining Good health.
Immunization
I understand immunization as injecting a weakened or killed disease causing micro organism into the body. This is done to improve the bodys defences against such diseases, that is why little children are always immunized. We get in contact with different disease causing micro organisms every day if one is not immunised against some deadly disease like small pox,and the person gets in contact with the small pox disease causing organism especially if it is a small child that has not been immunized the results may be fatal.So Please immunize your little kids today it help to improve their acquired natural immunity against diseases
Good hygiene
Good hygiene are the basic acts and behavior that helps reduce our contact with disease causing organism. Maintaining good hygiene is very important if we want to be healthy at all times. Good hygiene has to do with being clean and neat. Examples of good hygienic acts and behaviors are washing of hand ; before eating , after eating after using the convinence ( rest room), before cooking,and when your not engaged in any activity mentioned above wash ur hands at least 4 times in a day. Others include covering of food,washing of clothes,drinking clean water, taking baths at least twice daily and so on.
Eating Balanced diet
Balanced diet is a foot that contains all the 6 classes of food in the right proportion needed by the body. Truth is eating balanced diet can be very demanding especially for the poor people who have very little to eat, and for we the youth that love junk foods ( am guilty of this 😂). But we should always try to eat balanced diet in order to be healthy, because balanced diet contains nutrients that nourish the body and give us energy to do what ever we want to do.
Regular Exercise
Exercise are activities that strengthen the body,It increases blood flow and muscle tone and help makes the heart healthy. So we should excersise regularly, exercise are divided into two ; aerobic exercise which helps with our breathing and heart beat examples walking, running, jogging. While anaerobics like push ups,sit ups and weight lifting helps increase muscle tone,improves blood supply and endurance. Regular exercising makes one fit and healthy.
Drinking water
To be healthy, we all need to drink enough water. Water makes up more than 70% of our body. It makes up up to 80% if our blood so drinking water cannot be over emphasized. Water is the medium in which our body expels metabolism waste, even the lubrication in our joints is made up of water so we should drink water always because it is important. According to medics drinking water reduces the risk of getting kidney stones.
Routine Checks in the Hospital or health center
Going to the hospital after a while helps improve our health. Because experts in the field of our bodily and mind health attends to us and may find out some things which we don't know that affects our health, they also help improve our health when we fall sick.
For mental health; regularly going for therapy, forming a circle of close friends and family for emotional support when life hits you hard is also helps to improve our mental health,staying positive always also improves our mental health.
And for spiritual health; as a Christian I would say going to church , reading the Bible, practicing what is being taught in the church and what you learn from the Bible and most importantly praying always. But this does not apply to Christians alone other religions have have a congregation, a holy book and a way of praying ,so I will say that we all practice what our religions teaches us and live in peace,also love our neighbors this will help to improve our spiritual health.
